Basic Workers' Compensation Credential Program (BWC)
This five-part program provides basic claims management tools for the novice workers' compensation
specialist with minimal time and cost. These classes provide an overview of the workers' compensation system. The faculty
consists of claims managers, attorneys, OBD raters, physicians, and other workers' compensation professionals with over 10
years experience. Courses can be taken separately or as a whole. Please refer to the class catalogue for individual descriptions

105 Litigation Process
Basic Longshore and Harbor Workers' Compensation Act Course
This two-part course examines the effective handling of longshore and harbor workers' claims.
The course covers interpretation of the act, the litigation process, claims handling techniques, OWCP policy and procedure,
rating disabilities, jurisdiction, and litigation costs. The panel includes both defense and plaintiff attorneys. Please see

Heart Workshop
This is a full-day workshop covering the functional anatomy and physiology of the heart and vascular
system; stress and the heart; hypertension and stress; stress and strokes; and type A vs. environmental. This course also
includes a case presentation on coronary artery disease, hypertension, strokes, and stress.
Subrogation Workshop
This course will familiarize attorneys and claims representatives with the handling and resolution
of third-party aspects of workers' compensation claims. If focuses on the calculations involved in determining values for
potential settlement by third-party compromise and release. Other topics include reimbursement and credit rights, negotiation
of settlement, and general civil procedure involved in preparing these claims for trial.
How and When to Depose a Doctor and Effective Questioning of a Doctor
This workshop for claims, legal, and medical professionals covers all aspects of deposing a doctor.
Topics include effective questioning, permanent disability questions and considerations, preparation, and physician advocacy.
The course also includes discussions on drawing conclusions from exam findings, factors to change a physician's mind, and
questions on apportionment.
